ELECTRIC Pump Data Chart
This chart is suited to electrically driven pumps only and enables the operator to quickly determine pump operating costs in $/ML given operating head (metres), assumed pump efficiency and electricity tariff in c/kWh. The chart is based upon an electric motor efficiency of 93%.
Interestingly, the flow rate pumped is not required for establishing $/ML.
The chart can also be used in reverse to establish volume pumped given pumped head (metres), pump efficiency and known KWH consumption from Electrical Utility invoice.
Rob devised the Pump Data Chart during an investigation into pumping costs for a major irrigation project in the late 1980's.
